In the presidential election held on January 26, 2025, around 86.8 percent of voters in Belarus cast their ballots for the incumbent president, Alexander Lukashenko. Sergei Syrankov from the Communist Party received the second-largest share of votes, at approximately 3.2 percent. Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, condemned the election's results.

To compare, in 2020, Lukashenko won the election with over 80 percent of the votes. He has been in power since 1994.
