Inflation in Poland - statistics & facts
Between 2021 and the first quarter of 2023, Poland experienced a gradual increase in inflation, which gained momentum in 2022. One of the main factors behind this was the high prices of raw materials, commodities, and Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Sanctions imposed on Russia disrupted supply chains and significantly worsened consumer and business sentiment. The gradual withdrawal of European countries from supplying cheap energy raw materials from Russia increased operating costs, which ultimately prompted companies to raise the prices of their products. However, at the beginning of 2024, inflation in Poland began to slow down and is now forecasted to remain steady in the future.
