The age profile of Italians booking accommodations online

According to figures from 2019, online booking for travel accommodation was especially popular in younger Italians. About a third of people aged between 25 and 34 years booked the travel accommodation online in 2019. On the contrary, online booking was less common among Italians aged 65 years or older.

Online booking accommodation: more common in the North

In 2019, online holiday bookings in Italy were especially popular in the North-West. Conversely, reserving travel accommodations on the web was less frequent in the Islands, and the South. From a regional perspective, the share of individuals who booked holiday accommodations online was higher in Aosta Valley, Lombardy, and Umbria. On the other hand, Calabria registered the lowest figure as of 2019.
