Between 2011 and 2022, the ratio of the non-observed economy to gross domestic product (GDP) in Italy decreased. According to data, the value of the economy generated by both the shadow economy (under-declaration, illicit work, etc.) and illegal activities added up to **** percent of gross domestic product in 2022.
