In 2023, nearly ** percent of Italians took medicine in the last two days. This statistic breaks down this figure by gender and age of the population. As predictable, people older than 75 years registered the highest share of pharmaceutical drug use in both genders. Moreover, the share of female individuals taking medicines was larger than the one for male ones for almost all age groups, except for those aged between 65 and 74 years.
