The euro is the official currency of 19 Member States of the EU: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain. These countries are collectively known as the euro area.

This statistic illustrates the general perception of the euro's role for the EU amongst the population of all 19 euro area (eurozone)countries as of 2018, broken down by country. It can be seen that in all eurozone countries, over 69 percent of the population thought that the euro currency is a good thing for the European Union. Ireland and Luxembourg were most supportive, with 90 and 84 percent of the population supporting the euro, whereas Italians were most sceptical with 21 percent saying the euro is bad for the EU.
