The euro is the official currency of 19 Member States of the EU: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain. These countries are collectively known as the euro area.

This statistic illustrates the general perception of the euro currency amongst the population of all 19 euro area (eurozone) countries from 2011 to 2019. It can be seen that the opinion of the euro for members of the population in euro area countries remained relatively stable throughout the 9 years under observation. The share of people stating that the euro is a good thing for their country increased with some fluctuation during the nine years in which the survey has been undertaken.
