The company implemented a restructuring of its reporting segments: 
1: The 'Internet Services' segment comprises businesses running various EC (e-commerce) sites including an internet shopping mall Rakuten Ichiba, online cash-back sites, travel booking sites, portal sites and digital content sites, along with business for advertising and similar on these sites, provision of messaging and communication services and others, and management of a professional sports teams. From Q2 2021, businesses providing digital content sites in North America and Viber were transferred from the Mobile segment to the Internet Services segment.
 From fiscal year 2023, "Other internet services" was combined with the "Domestic e-commerce segment" to form the Internet services segment.  
2: The 'FinTech' segment engages in businesses providing services over the internet related to banking and securities, credit cards, life insurance and electronic money.
3: The 'Mobile' segment comprises business operations engaged in communication and messaging services. From Q4 2020, contents related businesses were transferred from the 'Internet services' segment to the 'Mobile' segment. Figures from 2019 onwards were adjusted retrospectively.
