In an October 2025 LATAM-wide survey, Venezuelans were divided about the most viable pathway for toppling the Maduro regime and re-establishing democracy in their country. However, a slight majority (55.1 percent) of the Venezuelan diaspora saw a U.S.-led military intervention as democracy's best path

Interestingly, this survey was conducted just a few months before January 3, 2026, when the political crisis escalated in Venezuela after President Trump ordered Maduro's capture and the U.S. seized key Venezuelan oil assets.
