Despite the growing need for the use of digital tools in schools, among the OECD member states in Latin America and the Caribbean, none offered the majority of their students adequate access to effective online learning support platforms, according to school principals surveyed in 2018. These data are part of the results presented within the framework of the Programme for International Student Assessment, known as PISA by its English acronym. That year, Uruguay was the regional leader, with **** percent of students having access to online educational platforms, while in Argentina this figure was less than one-fifth of the students.
