As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the digitalization of the education system has intensified worldwide. Although at the university level the offer of online programs had been developing in previous years, online classes for students in the in-person modality have become the everyday reality for a large number of students. According to a survey conducted among university students in 2020, while the percent of respondents enrolled in in-person programs who had some online classes before the pandemic was * percent in Colombia, that percent increased by ** percentage points starting from the lockdown. In Mexico, the figures were similar, rising from ** percent to ** percent of the students interviewed. In Peru, the figure increased by ** percentage points.
