Growth Sustained by the Pandemic

Between 2019 and 2021, the value of B2C online sales (Business-to-Consumer) increased by percent, rising from **** million U.S. dollars to approximately *** million. This exponential increase is largely due to both changes in user preferences and the restrictions imposed by the Peruvian government in response to the spread of COVID-19. Moreover, it is not only the value of sales that has increased; the digitalization of local businesses has also made a significant leap. Specifically, approximately ** businesses within the Andean country offered their products and services online. This represents a *** percent growth compared to 2019.

Consumer Profile

Frequent e-commerce users have become true detectives when purchasing products online. In fact, in a recent survey, more than ** percent of Peruvians stated that they use search engines and online videos to research potential purchases. The ability to have almost any product or service at their fingertips is one of the main reasons consumers prefer to shop online. Seventy-three percent of these transactions are made from smartphones, which have become the most used device for this purpose.
