According to the INSS, as of October 7, 2023, 255 people from Israel were held captive in Gaza. 36Â children were among the hostages, the youngest a nine-month old. 38 captives were aged 60 and above. Additionally, 161 adults aged between 18 and 59 years were abducted.
251 hostages were abducted by Palestinian militants, led by Hamas, during their invasion into Southern Israel on October 7, 2023. Subsequently, over 200Â hostages returned to Israel.
