According to a survey taken just over a month before the 2024 presidential election, approximately 40 percent of Americans were not at all confident regarding Trump's ability to be an effective commander in chief of the U.S. military. Similarly, roughly 38 percent of the respondents felt the same way about Harris's ability.Â
