The data was collected as part of a series of 15 public opinion polls conducted by the source since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war from October 15, 2023, to April 16, 2024. The surveys were managed by the Data Analytics Desk at INSS and fieldwork was implemented by the Rafi Smith Institute. Polls included 600 men and women interviewed in Hebrew and 200 in Arabic language, constituting a representative sample of the Israeli adult population.

Citation formats

According to a survey conducted among Jewish respondents in Israel in April 2024, ** percent believed the IDF will win the war in Gaza. On the other hand, ** percent of respondents did not believe the IDF could win the war, and ** percent did not have an opinion on either of the two. Since the start of the Israel-Hamas war on October 7, 2023, there has been a consistent decline in certainty among Jews in the army’s ability to win the war. Specifically, the share of respondents convinced of IDF's likely victory dropped from ** percent on October 15, 2023 to ** percent in the most recent poll in April 2024.
