In the UK, only one in ten of general practitioners were contracted to work for more than ** hours a week, according to a survey in 2024. However, four in ten of surveyed GPs actually worked more than ** hours on average per week. Another UK wide survey found that, the majority of doctors (not just GPs) reported working overtime.
