A report in 2024 found that over half of surveyed physicians had inappropriate feelings of anger, tearfulness, or anxiety in the past year. Moreover, more than a third withdrew from family and friends, while three in ten felt hopeless. These are all symptoms of depression. Despite the high numbers of physicians reporting symptoms of depression, less than one in five sought treatment for their mental health.
