In 2023, over a quarter of surveyed physicians reported they were clinically depressed, while a further ** percent reported having depression in the colloquial sense. That is, **** in *** physician in the United States were feeling down or to the point of clinical depression in 2023. Male physicians were just as likely to report feeling depressed as female physicians, although women reported more severe depression while men reported more colloquial depression.
