According to a survey of international visitors to New Zealand conducted in the first quarter of 2025, the country's landscapes and scenery was the leading factor drawing in international tourists, with around ** percent of respondents indicating this. Visiting friends or relatives was the second-most prevalent aspect considered when deciding whether to visit New Zealand among international tourists. The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings movies were cited by around ** percent of respondents as a key factor influencing their decision to travel to the country.
