Surveys conducted annually from 2021 to 2023 among IT security professionals of global organizations found that the tendency to pay ransom declined in 2023. According to the 2023 survey data, 54 percent of the organizations agreed to pay ransom after encountering a ransomware attack, down from 64 percent in 2022.
