As of November 2023, almost nine in ten organizations in the financial services industry worldwide have encountered ransomware attacks in the past year. This makes the financial institutions the most frequently targeted units worldwide in the measured period. The telecom and technology sector ranked second, with 72 percent of organizations claiming to have experienced ransomware attacks, while education followed, with around 61.4 percent.
