In 1990, it was estimated that around 46.5 percent of children worldwide suffered from anemia. By 2021, this estimate had deceased to just over 41 percent. Anemia is a condition in which a person does not have enough healthy red blood cells to effectively carry oxygen throughout the body. There are many different types of anemia including iron deficiency anemia, megaloblastic anemia, and hemolytic anemia.
