In a survey conducted in Japan in January 2023, ** percent of iPhone users stated that the deterioration of the battery was an occasion for them to buy a new smartphone. While the share was somewhat lower among Android users, Android users had a higher share of respondents that bought a new smartphone because their old one broke down.
