Several answers were possible. The data displayed here denotes respondents describing car brands as environmentally friendly.
The quota approach was employed to ensure that the sample was representative of gender and age. 3,000 interviews were conducted in France and 800 in each of the other countries.

European perception of car brands' environmental friendliness, by country of origin
Over half of consumers in the five countries surveyed would not describe car brands as environmentally friendly based on the brand's country of origin. At around ** percent, Spanish respondents represented the highest share of consumers who would describe European cars as environmentally friendly. In contrast, Chinese car brands did not record the same success: ** percent of Germans and ** percent of Spanish consumers would describe these brands as environmentally friendly.
