Original survey question: "Do you have a good or poor opinion of cars of brands from the United States?"

Respondents came from national samples from each country. The quota approach was employed to ensure that the sample was representative of gender and age.

3,000 interviews were done in France and 800 in each of the other countries. The results displayed include respondents who said they had a very good opinion or somewhat good opinion of car brands from the selected region or country.

Among the selected European countries, survey respondents from Portugal have the most favorable perception of American car brands, with ** percent of them reporting having a very good or somewhat good opinion of these brands. On the other hand, ** percent of German respondents have a very poor or somewhat poor opinion regarding American car brands, which is the highest among the selected countries.
