In a survey conducted about festive season shopping expectations among Australian consumers in September 2023, the leading way consumers intended to afford to spend more during the 2023 holiday season was by cutting back on personal expenditures such as eating out with friends, with over ** percent of those surveyed indicating this. Other popular strategies shoppers intended to use to make their holiday season shopping more affordable were using loyalty or rewards points when purchasing or using buy now, pay later (BNPL) services such as Klarna to spend more during the holidays to pay back at a later date.
