In 2023, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Europe encountered ** percent of detected significant ransomware attacks, down from ** percent in the year prior. The offices of local authorities ranked second by the share of major ransomware incidents reported, with almost a quarter of ransomware cases targeting them in 2023. Meanwhile, the figures are not based on the overall number of ransomware attacks in the region.
