Research subjects: active users who had used traditional search engine platforms (excluding vertical content search platforms, such as bytes, Xiaohongshu search, etc.) of all ports in April 2023, of which the traditional search engine platforms include Baidu search, 360 search, Sogou search, Quark search (mobile only), Sleipnir search (mobile only) and Wukong search (mobile only).

Major reasons for using search engines in China 2023, by device
In a 2023 survey conducted among Chinese search engine users, more than two-thirds of respondents stated that they used search engines on PC mainly for collecting information and materials for work and study. Meanwhile, respondents tend to use search engines on mobile devices to access to instant news and information.
