In financial year 2023, under National Food Security Act (NFSA) the Indian government launched various food allocation initiatives, out of which,Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) distributed the highest amount of food, amounting to over ** million metric tons. TPDS had various sub-initiatives such as Priority Household (PHH), and Antyoday Anna Yojana (AAY). Food grains distributed included rice, wheat, and nutri-cereals.
