On May 28th, the electorate of the Balearic Islands will go to the polls for the regional election. As of May 21^st, the latest poll shows a six-point advantage for the Partido Popular (PP) over the Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE). The PP received nearly 30 percent of the vote intentions while the PSOE received just below 25 percent. Due to the need to obtain at least 5% to obtain a parliamentary seat, the Ciudadanos, Més per Menorca, and Gent per Formentera parties are looking set to lose all the seats they obtained in the last election. Nevertheless, the regional parties can benefit from the Spanish electoral law by being granted seats for parliamentary representation.
