The May 28 regional election in La Rioja saw the Popular Party (PP) win a parliamentary majority by gaining more than 45 percent of the vote. The Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE) lost about seven percent of the vote, thus losing three parliamentary seats and the position of the most voted party. The Ciudadanos party lost more than 10 percent of the vote, losing all its parliamentary seats.
