* Analysis was conducted on 50 music albums released between January 2021 and September 2022 by the following Korean artists: BTS, TXT, LE SSERAFIM, SEVENTEEN, ENHYPEN, EXO, NCT, aespa, TWICE, GOT7, NMIXX, BLACKPINK, TREASURE, MONSTA X, IVE, Kep1er, ASTRO, ATEEZ, Lim Young-woong, and Kim Ho-joong.

** General goods are items that are guaranteed to be included in the album.

*** Randomized goods are item types that are guaranteed to be included in the album, such as photocards, where the exact version received by any given consumer is randomized. Out of 50 possible photocards, an album may include any two of the available ones without knowing which ones they will be.

Citation formats

Among ** albums released by Korean artists between January 2021 and September 2022, over ** percent included *** or more general goods. Around ** percent of them also included an additional randomized goods. On average, an album included *** general goods and *** randomized goods for a total of *** goods per album. It is standard for K-pop albums to include various goods such as photo cards and posters, which incentivizes fans to buy and collect albums.
