As of 2020, around half of physicians surveyed in the largest European countries reported there had been a time when they did not prescribe hormone therapy to a patient with vasomotor symptoms associated with menopause because the patient was concerned with the long-term risk of treatment. Furthermore, over ** percent of physicians did not prescribe hormone therapy because the patient had a comorbid condition.
