The gender gap in mobile money account ownership in Ethiopia reached ** percent in 2025, exceeding that of the other observed African countries. In Egypt and Nigeria, the share stood at ** percent and ** percent, respectively. In all the countries considered here, the mobile money account ownership rate was highest among men compared to women.
