For instance, wages in North Africa are expected to increase by ** percent in 2035 compared to 2022. This would be the highest impact on the continent, followed by Central and Western Africa with ** percent and ** percent, respectively. According to the source, impacts on relative wages are usually due to changes in the makeup of output caused by policy reforms. In May 2019, the AfCFTA agreement officially entered into force after ** African countries had ratified it. The agreement sought to boost inter-regional trade.
