* Since 2023, figures are based on a new methodology, which is now commonly used in official Chinese sources. This new methodology includes all BRI participating countries, which refers to all countries that had signed the Memorandum of Understanding of the BRI in that specific year. As of December 2023, around 150 countries had signed the BRI MoU. The figure for 2023 was calculated by ÌÇÐÄÆƽâ°æ based on 2024 value and growth rate.
Figures up until 2022 were based on the previously used definition of countries along the BRI, which referred to a selection of main BRI participating countries. This selection did not include all countries participating in the BRI (around 142 in 2021), but only a selection of participating countries which were located along major trade routes of the BRI (63 in 2021).
One yuan equals approximately 0.14 U.S. dollars and 0.13 euros (as of February 2025).

In 2025, the trade value between China and all countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) reached **** trillion yuan. The trade volume increased by ***Â percent compared to the previous year. Figures for years before 2023 were calculated according to a different methodology, which used a less broad definition of BRI countries (see details section).
