Peru was the Latin American country with the highest perception of corruption among politicians, as 88 percent of national respondents in a survey conducted in 2021 agreed that more than half or all politicians in their country are corrupted. Brazil followed with 79 percent of respondents believing most politicians in their country were involved in corruption. Overall, about one in four respondents said that all politicians were involved in corruption in their country.
