Transportation-related carbon dioxide emissions in the U.S. 2022-2050
Between 2022 and 2040, transportation-related emissions in the United States are projected to drop from 1.78 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide (MtCOâ‚‚) to 1.57 MtCOâ‚‚. Nevertheless, emissions from transportation are expected to rise slightly in the following years, reaching some 1.63 MtCOâ‚‚ by 2050.
