The global production of urea (also known as carbamide) reached a volume of roughly 200.99 million metric tons in 2024, up from 195.5 million metric tons in 2023. Urea has a 46 percent nitrogen content and is frequently used straight as a fertilizer. Urea is also used as input to produce complex NPK fertilizers.
