During the first half of 2024, the social and communication platform Discord reported removing approximately 35.46 million spam accounts. This represents an increase of around 80 percent from the 19.7 million spam accounts removed by the platform during the first half of 2021. During the last measured period, non-spam accounts removed by the platform were approximately 360 thousand. Due to the high usage of bots, which can help Discord users run and moderate their servers on the platform, spam accounts are removed in larger numbers than accounts committing other violations.
