In 2021, 32 percent of the app publishers in the Apple App Store who earned their first net million U.S. dollars were gaming app publishers. By comparison, only six percent of the iOS app publishers among those who earned their first net million U.S. dollars in that year were productivity app publishers. There was a small year-over-year decrease in the number of health and fitness app publishers reaching the million-dollar milestone, as well as in entertainment app publishers.
