In an online survey conducted in the United States in September 2021, 45 percent of Gen Z respondents said that there was too much pressure to be perfect on social media, whereas only 33 percent of other age groups agreed with this statement. Furthermore, 42 percent of those in the Gen Z demographic stated that people should show more of their real selves/lives on social media. Additionally, 39 percent of Gen Z respondents reported that they cared less about impressing others on social media than they used to.
