According to a survey of Gen Z users in the United States, between 2020 and 2021 weekly TikTok usage increased by 26 percent. By comparison, Instagram usage among teenagers in the U.S. decreased, with 6.5 percent fewer respondents reporting to use the photo and video sharing platform weekly in 2021 compared to 2020. Weekly Snapchat usage among U.S. Gen Z youth remained stable, with 54 percent of respondents reporting using the video messaging app weekly in 2020 and 2021.
