The market value of investments of the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) increased considerably between 1998 and 2025, reaching a peak of more than *** trillion U.S. dollars in 2025. As of 2025, NBIM had *** trillion U.S. dollars invested in equities, while the value of fixed-income investments stood at *** billion U.S. dollars. The first time the sovereign wealth fund invested in real estate was in 2011, and the fund did not invest in renewable infrastructure until 2021. Before that, the fund's assets were only placed in fixed income and equity.
