French people have a variety of ways to find information about the electoral campaign or the candidates' programs. Among these means, the most common vector to get information concerning the regional elections of 2021 was that of the public statements and addresses from the candidates. However, despite these information channels, only a small number of French people said they were informed about the content of the electoral programs. Although the youngest claimed to be the best informed, the year olds were also the age group most prone to abstention.
Some of the irregularities that affected the voting process could explain this lack of information. Indeed, in some areas, campaign documents were not delivered to voters as usual.
