In March 2021, nearly 40 percent of Russians held the opinion that the armed forces forces and the general improvement of country's combat capability was the main achievement of Vladimir Putin's presidency. The second biggest success was attributed to solving the Chechen crisis. For one quarter of respondents, Russia's economic development was one of Putin's major achievements. At the same time, for 28 percent, it was among his major policy failures.
