The transport sector was the main destination for the funding, accumulating **** billion U.S. dollars. The energy sector followed, with **** billion U.S. dollars, while roughly ** billion U.S. dollars were granted to the mining sector. Overall, African governments and state-owned enterprises signed loans with Chinese financiers in the period considered.
