According to Infocus Mekong's survey in 2021, the leading product category to be purchased as gifts by Vietnamese consumers for the Tet holiday in 2021 was alcoholic beverages, followed by fresh fruits. Alcoholic beverages were also the gift category with the most spending for Tet in 2020. Tet, also known as the Vietnamese lunar new year, is celebrated with feasts and gatherings. Before the new year, gift-giving is common among relatives, colleagues, and friends.
