Dairy products made up around half of the health foods certified as "foods for specified health uses" (FOSHU) in Japan in the fiscal year 2020. Non-alcoholic beverages followed in second place with a sales share of about ** percent.
FOSHU is a label for food products with scientifically recognized health claims, which received the government's approval to be promoted as such.
