As of 2024, the number of countries to publish National Action Plans (NAPs) stood at **. Among the countries with an active National Action Plan, Poland was one of the earliest to adopt one back in 2017. Some of the most recent countries to publish a NAP include Peru and Pakistan, each publishing in 2021.Â
NAPs are policy documents used by local governments to express the importance of outlined topics and the actions they will adopt to achieve commitments on an international or regional basis. As of 2023, over ** additional countries are currently in the process of developing a NAP.
